As we continue to be wary of the corona virus, it is wonderful at last to see some progress in the fight against this dreaded disease.
With vaccines being rolled out around the world, sadly in some countries slower than others, there is certain light at the end of the tunnel.
We have had several shows in Africa, including Botswana, Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania – and we have further shows lined up in Africa including Kenya, Mozambique, SA, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Tanzania to mention but a few.
In addition we have titles lined up in America, Mexico and Japan and of course as things get back to semi normal we have numerous titles in Europe just waiting for the official go ahead.
I am delighted to announce some changes in the WBF directory.
Firstly the experienced Emmanuel Demanet has been appointed as 2nd Vice President and will serve on the Senior Executive of the WBF.
Emmanuel is one of the most genuine guys I have met and is committed to helping the WBF grow even further and I personally look forward to working closely with him going forward.
Eddie Marshall has been appointed as the WBF Head of Africa which frees me somewhat to be even involved further in a global manner.
Eddie and I will work closely together in expanding Africa especially during these difficult times.
Eddie is one of the most loyal characters in the WBF and has massive experience in all aspects of boxing.
Colonel Markus Schefer, another extremely loyal WBF man, has been appointed to serve on the Championship committee and we look forward to his expertise and experience.
Finally on a humorous note, I will be supervising a WBF international title which will be held in Pollsmoor Prison Cape Town in the second week of March.
When I posed the question to the promoter and my friend Jackie Brice as to where I would be staying, he replied: Cell number 42.
I’m not sure if he was serious or not, but if he was, I’m sure that I can convince Eddie to supervise in my place.
Until next time, keep punching.
