Kim vs. Nagawa Weigh-In

September 11, 2010

The stage is firmly set for the first World Boxing Federation title fight in Korea after both local hero Ju Hee Kim and Jujeath ‘Shy Girl’ Nagawa today hit the scales below the 108 lbs limit for their vacant female world lightflyweight championship tomorrow in Anyang, South Korea.

For the 23-year-old Philippino Nagawa it is the second chance for top honours after an unsuccessful try earlier this year at the WIBA strawweight title. On the other hand, Kim, a huge commercial star in her country, already holds the WIBF, GBU and WIBA belts and now looks to add the fourth crown to her collection with the WBFed title. However, it is the first fight for the 24-year-old from Seoul in more than a year, so it remains to be seen if she has any ring rust to shed.
