The world will never be the same again, but can boxing?
As we prepare to move into the month of May, the world economy in tatters, most countries around the world still in lockdown, and still the Coronavirus continues to play havoc world wide.
We’ve heard so many conflicting stories as to the beginning of this virus. We’ve heard that it originates from bat, dogs and pigs from the open Chinese food markets.
We’ve heard that the virus emanated from the laboratories in China, man made, and deliberately circulated to win World War III for China without a weapon being fired.
We’ve heard that it is nature simply repairing itself against mankind for the negative indifference man has taken against Mother Earth and its natural existence.
We’ve heard that it’s the man upstairs punishing man for continuous negative behavior, and we’ve heard that its simply to vaccine every person on the planet with a chip to ensure full control of the world.
Perhaps all the above are complete hogwash, but perhaps not – you decide. But what is for certain is that the world has changed. We have to change the way we work, the way we think and the way we act.
Boxing will be back and it will be back perhaps in a slight different perceived way. What that is we will have to wait and see. But this is for certain – back it will be. Resilience and boxing are synonymous!
The World Boxing Federation will continue to grow, continue to stage quality fights and continue to take care of, and have consideration for all its family members.
I have even in these difficult times been in contact with several promoters who anxiously await the go ahead from their respective countries (including mine) to stage their shows.
France, Malta, Germany, South Africa, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Philippines will be countries where our first WBF fights post lockdown will take place.
I hope everyone is safe, healthy and well and doing the best they can under our current circumstances.
‘We will overcome!”
Until next time, keep punching.
