March 2017.
Gallardo
traveled to Fort-de-France in
Martinique to dethrone reigning
titlist Michel Mothmora on March
31, scoring a knockout in round
eight and delivering on his
promise to come out victorious
and make his dream of a world
title come true.
Clearly the
underdog, Diaz Gallardo floored
Mothmora in the first round, but
then fell behind on the
scorecards before coming back
with the finish in round eight.
He improved his record to 21-5-1
(12) in the process.
