AWARD   Photo: World Boxing Federation (WBF) Boxer Of The Month for October 2017: Womens World Light Flyweight Champion Justine Lallemand.

UPDATE: Result changed to No-Contest on December 27, 2017 due to doping violation by Lallemand. Da Costa Reinstated as champion.

Every now and again a new star appears, almost out of nowhere, on the boxing skies. Justine Lallemand from France is one of those, as she came in as the underdog, with only six pro fights, and beat Anne Sophia Da Costa (24-2) to win the WBF Womens World Light Flyweight title on October 28.

That impressive accomplishment makes the undefeated 25-year-old from Charleville-Méziéres an easy pick as World Boxing Federation (WBF) Boxer of the Month for October 2017.

Now 7-0 (1), Lallemand had never fought anyone of Da Costa´s caliber, but she proved to be a step above her more experienced and accomplished compatriot, the defending champion, by winning a clear unanimous decision (98-92, 98-92, 97-93.)
