When an underdog dethrones an
undefeated reigning champion, in
the champions home-town
even, it is very hard to
not pay special attention to
that achievement.
And that's exactly what Belgian
Steve Jamoye
did on April 12, when he took
the World Boxing Federation
(WBF) Intercontinental
Welterweight title from 17-0
Mehdi Mouhib in Douai, France.
It also makes him the World
Boxing Federation (WBF) Boxer of
the Month for April 2019!
After an excellent and
entertaining fight, 27-year-old
Jamoye from Liege won a deserved
unanimous decision over Mouhib,
with scores of 97-92, 96-93 and
95-94, and in the process
improved his professional record
to 26-7-2 (5).
