While she was considered a live
underdog, Katelynn Phelan from
Ireland was never the less a
significant underdog when she
traveled to Donauwoerth, Germany
to take on undefeated Jessics
Schadko (8-0) for the World
Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens
World Welterweight title on
October 17.
In only her fourth professional
bout, and her first championship
fight, Phelan, from the city of
Kildare, more than rose to the
occasion, as she dominated
Schadko from the start, forcing
the local girl to retire on her
stool before the sixth round.
Only twenty-years old, and a
bright future ahead of her,
Phelan improved her professional
record to 4-0 (1) and is the
World Boxing Federation (WBF)
Boxer of the Month for October
2020.
