Some boxers are just ready for
the big stage earlier than
others. On July 8, Katie Healy
from Wolverhampton, England
proved that she is one of those.
Healy (24), with only four
professional fights, travelled
to South Africa where she
defeated the much more
experienced and accomplished
local favourite Matshidiso
Mokebisi (15-9-1) to become
World Boxing Federation World
Super Bantamweight Champion.
It was no secret that Healy had
the talent, but it was still a
major accomplishment that she
could deliver so early in her
career as she boxed excellently
and won by unanimous decision.
The victory also makes her a
clear WBF Boxer of the Month for
July 2022.
