On the same show as the World
Boxing Federation world title
fights featuring Francois Botha
vs Pedro Carrion and Kreshnik
Qato vs. Fabio Liggieri, WBF
International light heavyweight
champion Tamas Kovacs from
Slovakia remained undefeated and
defended his belt with a third
round technical knockout over
Hungarian challenger Gyula
Gaspar.
Now 14-0 (10), Kovacs dominated
from the first bell and ended
matters after one minute of the
third round, knocking down
Gaspar and prompting referee Ian
John-Lewis to stop the uneven
affair.
Kovacs is now booked to vie for
the vacant WBF world light
heavyweight crown on December 18
in his hometown of Galanta,
Slovakia. If victorious, he
would make history as his
countries first-ever
professional boxing world
champion.
