The third day of the 2019 World Boxing Federation (WBF) Convention, Saturday November 9, held at the Center Parcs Park Hochsauerland Hotel in Medebach, Germany, turned out to be, as expected, another excellent day.

As was the case with the morning of day two, breakfast was highly enjoyable for all involved, with a family-like atmosphere, plenty of joking around and lots of cosy conversations.

Later in the morning, official activities included speeches from several of the WBF champions in attendance, as well as thorough reports from the chairmen and representatives of various regions.

President Howard Goldberg, also the African Chairman, and Executive Director Christian Roesen, also the European Chairman, broke down world-wide WBF statistics, and both expressed optimism for significant growth in 2020.

An open session followed, where anyone who wished to speak was allowed to do so, before a much needed coffee break and free afternoon allowed people to discus the informations they had just received, or relax in the hotel spa or bar.

Some decided a nap was in order, while others had more energy and went for a walk or enjoyed some healthy competition in one or more of the many sports activities the hotel has on offer.

At evening time, everyone took the 20-minute drive to the Walmehalle in nearby Korbach, where promoter Enrico Schuetze and his PSP Boxteam arranged the WBF Championship Boxing Event.

In front of a nice and noisy crowd, undefeated local hero Mario Jassmann (20-0) and American Donald Brown (8-1) won WBF Intercontinental titles.

On the undercard, reigning WBF World Super Middleweight Champion Travis “Rattlesnake” Hanshaw (16-1-1) registered a non-title fight victory.

Promoter Schuetze and his team deserves a big thank you for stepping in and putting on a wonderful show when a sudden venue-change for the convention was necessary less than two months ago.

The convention delegation returned to the hotel before midnight, where some winded down with a few drinks and others called it a day.

Only one more breakfast remains, before the convention is officially over Sunday morning and everyone starts their journey back to wherever they come from.

Be it South Korea, D.R. Congo, the United States, South Africa, Kuwait, Zimbabwe, or just a relatively short trip to another European country, everyone will surely return with a very pleasant experience in their suitcase.
