It is with great sadness that I
report that the WBF Tanzanian
representative and my good
friend Yassin Abdallah Mwaipaya
passed away this morning after a
long illness.
Yassin was a true boxing man,
and a man with great principles
and dignity. He worked hard as
the President of the Tanzanian
boxing commission always putting
the boxers first and even
spending his own money to assist
the boxers.
Yassin was one of the most loyal
WBF representatives and will
certainly leave a void. He was
always full of fun, had a great
sense of humor, and did
everything by the book.
I was very extremely fortunate
to have worked side by side with
Yassin on several occasions. He
was the consummate professional,
commanded respect from all, and
always ensured that his visitors
were well looked after.
The WBF, and in particular me,
express our condolences to his
family at this sad time.
