World Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens World Light Flyweight Champion Sarah “Babyface” Bormann won the vacant WBF Womens World Strawweight title on Friday night, May 21, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Belgrade, Serbia.

Germany's Bormann (31) clearly defeated former European champion Catalina Diaz f(41) from Spain, winning a shut-out unanimous decision with scores from judges Jurgen Langos, Radoslav Milutinovic and Daniel Van de Wiele 100-90 across the board.

Joining reigning World Middleweight and Super Middleweight ruler Ema Kozin as a holder of WBF world titles in two weight classes simultaneously, Bormann is now 13-0 (7). Diaz falls to 6-5 (1).

On the same card, former WBF World Super Middleweight Champion Patrick Mendy, from Gambia but fighting out of the United Kingdom, scored a fifth round technical knockout over previously unbeaten German Karwan Al Bewani to win the Interim WBF World Super Middleweight title.

Mendy, now 19-17-3 (2), has taken on all comers in recent years, and also defeated good fighters such as former WBA world champion Dmitry Chudinov and current IBO titlist Oscar Ahlin. For Al Bewani, 8-1 (6), its back to the drawing-board.

The show was promoted by former Heavyweight contender Alexander Petkovic and streamed live by bild.de.
