on Friday night, May 21, at the
Hyatt Regency Hotel in Belgrade,
Serbia.
Germany's Bormann (31) clearly
defeated former European
champion Catalina Diaz f(41)
from Spain, winning a shut-out
unanimous decision with scores
from judges Jurgen Langos,
Radoslav Milutinovic and Daniel
Van de Wiele 100-90 across the
board.
Joining reigning World
Middleweight and Super
Middleweight ruler Ema Kozin as
a holder of WBF world titles in
two weight classes
simultaneously, Bormann is now
13-0 (7). Diaz falls to 6-5 (1).
On the same card, former WBF
World Super Middleweight
Champion Patrick Mendy, from
Gambia but fighting out of the
United Kingdom, scored a fifth
round technical knockout over
previously unbeaten German
Karwan Al Bewani to win the
Interim WBF World Super
Middleweight title.
Mendy, now 19-17-3 (2), has
taken on all comers in recent
years, and also defeated good
fighters such as former WBA
world champion Dmitry Chudinov
and current IBO titlist Oscar
Ahlin. For Al Bewani, 8-1 (6),
its back to the drawing-board.
