In less than two years time, she
cut a swath through the ranks of
female middleweights and she is
still only 20 years of age!
The talk is about WBF (and WBO)
womens world champion and boxrec
# 1 Christina Hammer, who now is
rewarded by becoming the first
boxer to win the WBF Boxer of
the Month award for the second
time.
Hammer, from Dortmund, and
promoted by Ulf Steinforth’s SES
Boxing, last week celebrated her
most important win so far by
clearing outpointing the
superwelterweight # 1 Maria
Lindberg of Sweden in a true and
rare female superfight to retain
her titles.
The magnitude of this fight and
the manner in which Hammer
brought her excellent record to
10-0 (7) made her a logic choice
for the honor. Christina already
was WBF Boxer of the Month in
February this year for her
devastating win over Hungary’s
Diana Kiss, a fight that made
her champion of the World Boxing
Federation.
As the biggest German tabloid
‘BILD’ wrote in a story last
week, “This Lady Is A Hammer!”.
Indeed, she is. Congratulations,
Christina, to your second WBF
Boxer of the Month award. |
