Frenchman Guillaume Lorenzo won the
vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF)
Intercontinental Lightweight title
on Wednesday, August 24, at the
Sanman Gym in General Santos City,
Philippines.
Fighting for the sixth time in the
Philippines, Lorenzo scored a fourth
round technical knockout, when his
opponent, Filipino Joe Tejones,
retired on his stool after the
third.
Before that it had been Lorenzo in
control, as he was on the offensive
from the start and Tejones forced on
the back-foot. After three rounds,
he didn't feel he could do any more
of that.
A professional since 2017, Lorenzo
(28) improved his professional
record to 9-4 (6), while Tejones
(25) falls to 13-11 (7).
The fight headlined a massive
fifteen-bout card, billed as “Sanman
Bubble X”, staged by Sanman
Promotions.
