Shefat Isufi is still the World
Boxing Federation (WBF) Light
Heavyweight champion after retaining
his title on Friday night at the
Rudolf Weber Arena in Oberhausen,
Germany.
Isufi (32) took on hard-as-nails
Canadian Ryan Ford, and after a
close and entertaining encounter he
emerged victorious by unanimous
decision.
All three judges saw it the same:
115-113 for the defending champion,
who improved his professional record
to 36-4-2 (24). Ford, a former UBO
World and WBC International Silver
titlist, drops to 17-8 (12).
Isufi had won the WBF World title
last April when he out-scored
Bulgarian Grigor Saruhanian, and was
making his first title-defense.
The fight headlined a card promoted
by Alexander Petkovic.
