Fighting in his opponents home-town,
Siril Makiadi produced one of his
best performances to date when he
won the vacant World Boxing
Federation (WBF) World Cruiserweight
title on Friday night, December 2.
In a battle of French compatriots at
Le Zenith in Toulon, Makiadi beat
local man Faisal Arrami by unanimous
decision, improving his professional
record to 14-2-2 (6) in the process.
Arrami drops to 20-9-1 (10).
Arrami started the fight best and
looked on his way to victory in the
early stages, but from the fourth
round Makiadi was the better man and
he edged most of the rounds from
that point on.
After twelve rounds of action,
judges Bruno Dubois and Stephane
Nicolo both scored the fight
117-111, while judge Marc Lemiere
had it closer at 115-113.
The fight headlined a card promoted
by Graine De Champion Association.
