Undefeated Belgian Quentin Gomes,
15-0 (5), will be looking to finish
2022 by winning his third
professional championship inside the
calendar year.
On December 17 at the Hall
Omnisports Robert Collignon in Amay,
Liege, Gomes will take on Frenchman
Melvin Moreau, 10-5-1 (3), for the
vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF)
Intercontinental Welterweight title.
Back in April the 23-year-old won
the IBF Youth title, stopping
Tanzanian Alex Kachelewa in four
rounds, and the following month he
picked up the Belgian national crown
by blowing out Hakim Ben Ali in the
opening stanza.
He will likely have a harder time
against the durable Moreau (29), who
has won his last three leading up to
his first pro title fight, and only
been stopped once in his five
defeats.
Gomes vs. Moreau for the WBF
Intercontinental Welterweight title
is the main event of a show promoted
by Amay Boxing Club.
