Germany-based Croatian Robert
Grguric is the new World Boxing
Federation (WBF) International
Heavyweight champion after defeating
previously unbeaten Stefan Rumpold
in Baden, Switzerland on Saturday
March 11.
A clear underdog fighting in his
opponents home country, 32-year-old
Grguric scored by far the biggest
win of his career to date and
disappointed the fans at the Trafo
Halle as he floored and stopped
Rumpold in the fifth round.
Since turning pro in the fall of
2020 Rumpold (33) has had things
much his own way, winning eight
straight, but in Grguric he was up
against an opponent who had his own
plans and made the most of his big
opportunity.
“Machine”
Grguric improved his professional
record to 6-3 (5), while Rumpold,
taking part in his first title
fight, falls to 8-1 (4) and must
return to the drawing board.
The fight headlined the second
edition of the Boxgalla Baden,
promoted by Fight Night Baden.
