American Stevie Morgan, 12-1 (11),
is set to fight for the vacant World
Boxing Federation (WBF)
Intercontinental Lightweight title
on January 26 in Bogota, Colombia.
Morgan, a former UBO world champion,
will face former WBA world
title-challenger Paola Esther
Herrera, 14-8-2 (6), from Colombia,
who has accepted the assignment on
short notice.
This will be Morgan´s eleventh fight
in Colombia, so she will return to
familiar territory as she attempts
to add another belt to a collection
which already includes American
Boxing Federation and NBA
Intercontinental titles, besides the
UBO world title.
The 34-year-old from Tampa, Florida
has won four straight fights since
dropping a majority decision to
another Colombian in Calista
Silgado.
For Herrera it will be her third
opportunity to win a title, after
coming up short in the WBA world
title-challenge and a crack at the
WIBA South America title.
The fight will be part of a show
promoted by T & K Boxing Promotions.
