Sweden´s Oscar “Golden Boy” Ahlin
will face Michal Ryba from the Czech
Republic for the vacant World Boxing
Federation (WBF) Intercontinental
Light Heavyweight title on April 13.
The fight will headline a big card
promoted by former WBO Middleweight
world champion Armand Kranjc at the
Quality Hotel in Malmo.
Heavy-handed Ahlin, 25-2 (20),
turned pro in 2011 and has been
around the block, fighting in
Hungary, Denmark, the United
Kingdom, Spain, Dubai and Belgium,
besides his native Sweden.
In 2021 he won the IBO Continental
title with a wide decision over
German Alpay Yaman, but beating Ryba
to become WBF Intercontinental
champion would be his biggest
triumph to date.
Southpaw Ryba, 20-10-1 (16), may not
bring an exceptional win-loss
record, but he has won his last
eight bouts and is the current UBO
Intercontinental champion.
Most of his losses came early in his
career, and in his last thirteen
outings only former WBA world Super
Middleweight champion Tyron Zeuge
has managed to defeat him.
With 38 of 45 combined wins coming
inside the distance, this is bound
to be an explosive affair between
big punchers.
