Phannarai Netisri is still the World
Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens World
Super Bantamweight champion after
successfully retaining her title on
Wednesday night, May 1, in Hamburg,
Germany.
Making her third defense of the
title she won almost exactly two
years ago, the Germany-based Thai
scored a unanimous decision over
South American champion Maria
Magdalena Rivera from Argentina.
After ten rounds of boxing, judges
Janine Schilling and Irene Kostenko
both scored it 97-93, while judge
Dominic Kuhaupt had it slightly
wider at 98-92.
Despite the relatively wide scores,
it was a competitive fight and
Rivera had spells of succes
throughout where she gave the
champion all she could handle.
Still only twenty-three years old,
Netisri is now 15-0 (6) in a pro
career she began in 2019. Rivera
(43) travels back to Buenos Aires at
13-6-3 (3).
The fight was the main event of a
show at the Grosse Freiheit,
promoted by Boxen im Norden.
