The G.W.O.A.T., Claressa Shields
will defend her World Boxing
Federation (WBF) world heavyweight
title on July 26 in Detroit,
Michigan, USA against current IBF
world Light Heavyweight champion
Lani Daniels from New Zealand.
The fight will be the main event of
a big show promoted by Salita
Promotions at the Little Caesars
Arena, broadcast live world-wide by
DAZN.
Shields, 16-0 (3), who is one of the
most accomplished female fighters of
all time and has won world titles at
Super Welterweight, Middleweight,
Super Middleweight; light
Heavyweight and Heavyweight, won the
WBF title in July of 2024 when she
stopped Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse in
two rounds.
In Daniels, 11-2-2 (1), she will be
facing an opponent who is going up
in weight, but has already held a
world title at Heavyweight. In 2023
she won and defended the IBF world
Heavyweight title, before dropping
down to win the IBF world title at
Light Heavyweight in December of
that same year.
Last September she defended her
world title with a clear unanimous
decision over undefeated Nigerian
Bolatito Oluwole, and now she is
ready to return to Heavyweight for
what will be the biggest fight of
her life against Shields.
