On Saturday May 2 in Tblisi,
Georgia, two World Boxing Federation
(WBF) championship fights topped a
bill at the New Olympic Sports
Palace.
WBF Interim world Middleweight
champion Givi Todua showed his class
when he stopped brave but outgunned
Filipino Elmo Traya in the second
round.
It was a statement performance from
Todua, who improved his undefeated
record to 7-0 (5). Traya travels
home at 16-7 (11).
The ceiling is very high for Todua,
only 21 years old and a pro for less
than two years, who is hoping to
clash with Kazakhstan´s full WBF
world champion Viktor Temirov in the
near future.
Israeli Yan “Terminator” Zak was
successful in his first pro title
bout when he captured the vacant WBF
International Cruiserweight belt.
With his fourth fight in Georgia,
Zak (26) took his record to 7-0 (5)
when he stopped Arshdeep Singh
Batth, now 11-3 (9) in five rounds.
