The unbeaten World Boxing
Federation lightweight champion
of the world, Mlungisi 'The
Shark' Dlamini, was tragically
killed in a motor accident on
the evening of Friday 29
January. Dlamini was unbeaten
with a record of 21-0-1 with 13
knockouts, and was rated # 15 in
the world on Boxrec.
A champion inside and outside
the ring, the World Boxing
Federation extends its deepest
condolences to Dlamini's family
on this tragic loss.
WBF President and friend of
Dlamini, Howard Goldberg
expressed his shock and sadness
at Dlamini's passing saying:
“Dlamini was a fantastic person
and a brilliant boxer destined
for great things. He must be
remembered for the good person
he was, as well as all the good
he brought to the boxing
game. He thrilled and
entertained fans with his
greatness and he will never be
forgotten."
"It certainly has been a
privilege for me to have known
Mlungisi and to have watched his
fantastic skills in action. I
wish to convey my personal as
well as the WBFed's deepest
condolences to the family.” |
