The World Boxing Federation is happy to welcome on board another promoter from Germany in Turhan Altunkaya, whose Koblenz-based PunchUp Promotion will stage their initial WBF championship bout on March 6, 2010 in Siershahn, Germany.

Contesting the International cruiserweight crown (and at the same time the GBA version of the German title) are two African-born fighters who have made Germany their base of operations.

Altunkaya, himself an active professional until 2008, will put his hopes on 27-year-old Ghanaian Ben Nsafoah, 7-2-2 (4), whom he manages and trains. However, with Karlsruhe-based Nigerian Prince Anthony Ikeji in the opposing corner, nobody can accuse Altunkaya of easy pickings for his charge.

Ikeji has won seven on the spin and his five KO wins have interestingly all come in the opening round. Clearly, the early rounds promise fireworks.

“This is the next step in the development of PunchUp,” said Altunkaya, “and I am looking forward to work with a serious organization such as the World Boxing Federation.” For more informations click on http://www.punchup-boxing.com/.
