World Boxing Federation
middleweight champion Kreshnik
'The Eagle' Qato, the first
professional boxing world title
holder from Albania, warms up
for his third defence of the
title in a low-key appearance in
London, England this coming
Sunday (Mar. 21).
The 31-year-old champ faces
journeyman Alex Spitko over six
rounds in the nominal main event
of a show staged by Left Jab
Promotions at the famous York
Hall in Bethnal Green.
The plan for Qato, 21-6 (4), is
to go right back into the gym -
providing things go as planned
on Sunday - afterwards and start
training camp for his next
defence of the WBFed crown,
pencilled in for May 1 in the
Albanian capital of Tirana. That
would constitute the champion's
first outing back in his
homeland since he became a world
title holder in April 2008.
His first two defences, Kreshnik
recorded in the USA and Germany
respectively. Overall, Qato is
now unbeaten in the last six
years and has won 16 fights in a
row during that time. |
