The World Boxing Federation swiftly reacted to the incredible growth it underwent last year by further expanding their management staff to accommodate the increase of business, adding more highly-qualified administrators to their crew.

The Executive Committee was joined by Francisco (“Frank”) Navarro of Tijuana, Mexico and Ernst Salzgeber of Vienna, Austria. Both are long-standing WBF judges (and referee, in Salzgeber’s case) and highly respected in their trade. Especially the appointment of 53-year-old Navarro comes in consideration of Mexico having grown into one of the busiest WBF countries, which thus is strengthened in representation within the World Boxing Federation.

Together with previous Executive Committee Members Paul Thomas (England) and Tonio Tiberi (Luxembourg), Chairman Torben Seemann Hansen of Denmark welcomed the latest additions to his Committee.

“I know Ernst Salzgeber for a long time and am very happy for such a capable person of integrity to join us,” said Seemann Hansen, “and of course Frank Navarro is most welcome, too. I hope he will be able to contribute to WBF's presence and activities in the important Mexican market.”

Further appointments are Peter Pospichal, also from the Austrian capital of Vienna and involved in professional boxing for a few decades, becoming Regional Representative for his country, as well as Abbas Sadeghi from Kuwait acting in the same position for the Arabian country. Sadeghi will work in close cooperation with the WBF Middle East Representative Behnam Azampanah, who is based in Teheran, Iran, in the development of the Middle East and Arabian markets for professional boxing and the WBF.

Finally, attorney Marcus Bartscht, a partner in the established chancellery Brodauf in Hanover, Germany, has taken over as the WBF Legal Advisor.

“As the WBF and our revolutionary philosophy grows and spreads, the establishment will surely try to attack us in fear of losing business,” said WBF Vice President Jean Marcel Nartz, “therefore, we need to be prepared for every conceivable obstacle put in our way.”
