On Friday March 8 at the
Saarlandhalle in Saarbruecken,
Germany, DOG Eventboxing
presents a World Boxing
Federation
Championship-tripleheader
featuring two Intercontinental
title fights and one
International championship bout.
The main event sees local hero
Juergen Doberstein facing
Spaniard Blas Miguel Martinez
for the vacant Intercontinental
Super Middleweight crown.
Doberstein, 24 years old and
from nearby St. Ingbert, is the
reigning German champion and
spots a professional record of
13-1-1 (4). He won the vacant
national title in May 2012
against former titlist Christian
Pawlak, and followed up on that
win by stopping Polish prospect
Michal Nieroda in his next bout.
In Blas Miguel Martinez (31),
Doberstein will be in with his
most experienced foe so far, a
man who has compiled a 18-6 (9)
ledger against good opposition
and fought for a variety of
titles since turning pro in
2007. Martinez is coming off two
stoppage victories in his
adoptive home country
Switzerland.
In the co-feature, Women’s
Intercontinental Flyweight
Champion Rajah Amasheh defends
against late substitute Agnes
Draxler from Hungary who steps
in to replace former European
champion Corina Carlescu.
After winning the WBF title last
October with a landslide
unanimous decision over Serbian
Fleis Djendji, Amasheh, 14-0-1
(3), will be looking for an
impressive performance in her
first defense against Draxler,
4-3 (0).
A victory for Amasheh will move
her one step closer a shot at
WBF World Champion Irma Sanchez
from Mexico, so a lot will be at
stake for the 30-year-old
German.
Finally, in an all-Hungarian
clash of southpaws, veteran
Ferenc Hafner (37), 17-2 (10),
square off with hard-punching
young gun Sandor Micsko (26),
14-3-2 (11), for the vacant
International middleweight
title. It shapes up to be an
interesting evening of
championship boxing in
