Ukranian Timur Akhundov and
French national champion Bastien
Rozeaux will fight for the
vacant World Boxing Federation
World Featherweight title on
March 30 at the AKKO
International in Kiev.
Fighting in his hometown,
Akhundov is the reigning WBF
Intercontinental champion, a
title he won and defended last
year to get in position for his
crack at world honors.
Currently holding a professional
record of 14-2-1 (5), with one
no-contest, the 28-year-old
Ukrainian is undefeated in
twelve bouts since 2008 and is
coming off a wide decision
victory over another Frenchman,
Leonus Marie Francoise, last
July.
29 years old and from
Pont-Sainte-Maxence, Bastien
Rozeaux, 11-3-1 (8), turned pro
in 2008 and got off to a good
start before suffering a couple
of domestic defeats, both on
points, against undefeated Amor
Belahdj Ali (in 2010) and Ali
Halab (in 2011).
He has since rebounded very well
and proved his class by being
competitive with world class
operator Choi Tseveenpurev
before losing in eight rounds,
and winning the French national
title this past February with a
landslide decision over Youcef
Abgour.
The Timur Akhundov vs. Bastien
Rozeaux WBF World Featherweight
title fight will be promoted by
Oleg Bruskov and his Global
Box-Promotion. |
