Hassan Azaouagh captured the vacant World Boxing Federation International bantamweight title Friday night (April 16) outpointing tough South American Luis William Singo at the ‘Espace Francois Mitterrand’ in Pas-de-Calais, France.

23 year old Azaouagh took the title via a unanimous decision after 10 entertaining rounds in front of a sell out crowd. The Frenchman moves his record to 7-6-0 while Singo drops to 12-4-2.

Referee was Jean Piere Van Imschoot from Belgium, judges Benny Decroos (Belgium), Alain Hemelaars (Belgium) and Andre Pasquier (France). WBF supervisor: Jean Marcel Nartz (Germany).

Azaouagh will be hoping to defend his WBF crown later in the year.
