World Boxing Federation World
Super Welterweight Champion
Sebastien Madani will be making
his first title defense on
Saturday April 27 in his
hometown of Rumilly, France,
when he takes on veteran
Brazilian contender Anderson
“Pantera” Clayton.
Madani, 34-1 (10), won the WBF
World title last June with a
unanimous decision over Spaniard
Jose Del Rio, and has since been
waiting anxiously for the
opportunity to defend the crown
in front of his local fans:
“I love fighting in Rumilly, and
have fought here many times as
an amateur and a professional. I
won French, European and
Intercontinental titles in this
town, and it is only natural
that I make my first world title
defense in Rumilly too”, said
Madani.
In the heavy-handed Anderson
Clayton, 41-8 (36), Madani will
be facing a man who has been
around the block, fought for and
won many titles, and faced some
big names. But this will be his
first shot at a world title, and
the 34-year-old from Sao Paulo
plans to make the most of it:
“I don’t think Madani can bring
anything to the table that I
have not seen before. I believe
I have fought much better
opposition than him, and it’s
really too bad for him that he
will already lose his world
title in his first defense!”
Interviewed in the build-up to
the fight, Madani doesn’t seem
to be fazed by the big challenge
ahead:
“I made a lot of sacrifices to
be ready for the big day, and
when I enter the ring I will
show who the world champion is.
I have the title, it is mine and
I will keep it!”
The Sebastien Madani vs.
Anderson Clayton WBF World Super
Welterweight title fight will be
