May 3 - 2010:
The inaugral - and hugely
successful - World Boxing
Federation Convention 2010
in Albania came to an end this
morning with the closing press
conference held at the Tirana
International Hotel.
WBFed Honory President Ylli
Ndroqi thanked the many
delegates from around the globe
for their participation and a
very proud world middleweight
champion Kreshnik Qato displayed
his WBFed belt after again
successfully defending it the
previous night.
Title fight referee Tonio Tiberi
of Luxemburg also paid tribute
to Esteban Ponce for a gallant
challenge before everyone
departed with the bus service to
Mother Theresa International
Airport for the journey home. A
convention to remember had come
to an end.
Before departing, many delegates
gave their opinion on the WBFed
Convention 2010:
Darryl Ribbink (South
Africa): "I enjoyed it very
much, especially meeting many
new faces."
Juan Pablo Manfredi
(Argentina): "A
well-organized convention in a
very exclusive hotel. Albania
was a great host country."
Jean Pierre van Imschoot
(Belgium): "A new experience
for me and it was better than I
expected. The food, the hotel
and the organization was
fantastic."
Ian McLeish (Australia):
"Compliments to the WBFed. Just
the seminars could have been
more extensive."
Jean Marcel Nartz (Germany):
"It is incredible how this group
works together as a team, and in
such a short time."
Zbigniew Lagosz (Poland):
"A very good convention, I felt
like being at home."
Eddie Marshall (South
Africa): "I'm very, very
impressed by the WBFed. The
convention made us feel we
belong to a family."
Artur Ellensohn (Germany):
"A successful convention and it
was a huge step towards
establishing the WBFed as a
serious organization."
John Wilson (England):
"An excellent rebirth for the
World Boxing Federation!"
Myriam Lamare (France, WBFed
World Champion): "It was a
great pleasure to be in Tirana.
The convention was perfectly
organized and I learned a great
deal for my future career in
promoting." |
