Dr. Adam Balogh (MD), Medical
Advisor for the World Boxing
Federation (WBF) and chief
surgeon at the Helios Klinik in
Huels, Germany, was recently
appointed Fellow of the American
College of Surgeons.
At a ceremony on October 7 in
Washington D.C., Dr. Balogh was
among several physicians who
became new members of the
American College of Surgeons (ACS),
a famed institution which
celebrated its 100th
anniversary this year.
In order to become a Fellow, it
requires not just the
recommendations of a certain
number of existing members, but
also the publishing of several
scientific works.
“It is a huge honour for me to
be admitted into this exclusive
society of colleagues,” said the
WBF Medical Advisor.
At the recent WBF World
Convention in Germany, Dr.
Balogh lectured in front of
delegates from all over the
world and was lauded for his
efforts on behalf of
professional boxing.
WBF President Howard Goldberg of
South Africa congratulated Dr.
Balogh on his achievements and
stressed that “the World Boxing
Federation appreciates to have a
truly world class physician at
the head of its medical
department.”
