WBF Establish Close Ties With CPBF In China

World Boxing Federation President Howard Goldberg, and WBF USA Ambassador Evander 'Real Deal' Holyfield recently spent a hugely successful week in Qingdao China, attending the WBF Asia Pacific Heavyweight title fight on February 28, but equally importantly holding outstanding discussions with the China Professional Boxing Federation (CPBF).
 

President of the CPBF, Zhang Ri Lin, former Olympian fighter and unbeaten heavyweight Zhang 'Dragon King' Junlong and WBF President Howard Goldberg all expressed delight in the forming of a strong relationship of co-operation, together with staging WBF fights in China in the future.
 

Zhang Junlong won the vacant WBF Asia Pacific Heavyweight title with a two round demolition job over late substitute Timor Benz of Thailand.
 

Evander Holyfield expressed him opinion, that Zhang is a future world champion after witnessing his speed and tremendous power.
 

The WBF President expressed his delight at the incredible hospitality afforded to him, Evander Holyfield and two WBF officials, Referee Darryl Ribbink and judge Eddie Marshall.
 

''I cannot thank Zhang Junlong and his mother enough for treating us so well. Nothing was too much, and the WBF look forward to returning to China in the future and working hand in hand with the CPBF'', said Goldberg after returning to South Africa.
