On Friday March 28, World Boxing
Federation (WBF) Womens World
Super Featherweight Champion
Ramona Kuehne will be making her
sixth title-defense at the MBS
Arena in Potsdam, Germany, on a
show promoted by SES Boxing.
Kuehne, 21-1 (7), will face
undefeated 24-year-old Hungarian
Gina Chamie, who enters her
third title bout, but first
world championship opportunity,
with a fine 8-0 (4) ledger.
“Ramona Kuehne is an experienced
champion, but I will be coming
to take the title back to
Hungary”, said Chamie when the
pair recently met at a press
conference in Potsdam, near the
champion’s hometown Berlin.
“I have to be careful of her
hard body-shots, but I can’t,
and won’t, hide in the ring, and
I will be fighting hard to make
it a great fight.”
Having heard it all during a
career that started in 2006 and
have brought her world titles in
three weight classes, Kuehne is
not particularly impressed with
her opponent’s statements:
“This is a classic fight between
experience and youth. But with
my experience of many title
fights, and the fact that we
will be fighting in front of my
fans, gives me great confidence
and motivation.”
“Of course she wants to win my
title, but a lot of opponents
have tried and failed in the
past.”
The SES Boxing show, including
the Ramona Kuehne vs. Gina
Chamie WBF World title fight,
will be streamed live and for
free world-wide on
www.ran.de and
www.myvideo.de from 19:00
CET.
