Molefe 'Lion King' Matima floored Siabulela Ziqula (correct record 18-7) in each of the first three rounds before catching Ziqula with a left hook which resulted in a knockout win in round four for the outstanding prospect Matima.

He is now the World Boxing Federation All Africa Featherweight champion.

Ziqula in 25 fights had never been dropped nor stopped, but was no match for Matima although he was certainly never lacking in the courage department.

In fact, Ziqula caught Matima to the body several times and made him miss badly at times such is the experience of Ziqula. However, Matima was not in the mood to go the distance and with his excellent job opening the way for further combinations, Matima edged closer to a world title shot, probably sometime in August.

Matima moves to 10-1 with 7 knockouts and boasts a knockout win over the current South African featherweight champion Sabelo Jubatha.

The officials were: Supervisor: Archie Jonas, Referee: Terence 'Ace' Makaluza, Judges:  Simphiwe Mbini, Lulama Mtya, Edith Futhkhwe.
