Bragging rights will also be on
the line, when Hungarian
prospects Zsolt Dudas and
Richard Baranyi fight for the
vacant World Boxing Federation
(WBF) International Light
Heavyweight title on Sunday June
14 at the Hotel Aquincum in
Budapest.
For undefeated 26-year-old
Southpaw Dudas it will be his
first championship fight, as he
puts his 7-0 (2) record on the
line against the more
experienced, but two years
younger, Baranyi on a show
promoted by Zoltan Petranyi and
his Profibox-Promotion.
Baranyi brings an 11-1 (9)
record, and is the reigning
Hungarian International
champion, a title he won last
March by stopping Czech
Rastislav Kovac in two rounds. A
month later he was surprisingly
stopped in round four by
Argentinian Pablo Sosa, but in
May he returned with a
convincing victory over fellow
countryman Ferenc Torok.
Both men are young and talented
enough that a defeat wont be the
end of the world, but with local
pride and the WBF title at stake
they will do all they can to
come out victorious. The winner
will take a big step forward in
his career, while the loser gets
pushed back in the line.
The Dudas vs. Baranyi WBF
International title fight will
be televised live in Hungary on
FIX TV, and is the headliner of
a show that also consists of
three Hungarian title fights,
plus an appearance of hot Barry
McGuigan-managed contender
Anthony Cacace.
