On Friday December 18, Port
Elisabeth, South Africa played
host to an entertaining showdown
for the vacant World Boxing
Federation (WBF) International
Strawweight title between
compatriots Siphosethu Ncisane
and Ndikho “Mini Cooper”
Magadaza.
Headlining a show at the
Uitenhage Indoor Sports Center,
Ncisane was crowned the new
champion by eleventh round
knockout, but only after great
resistance from Magadaza who
fought his heart out and was in
the fight all the way to the
final moments.
At the time of stoppage, judges
Prince Mbambaza and Lizo Jordan
had Ncisane ahead by scores of
95-94 and 97-93, while judge
Nkosinathi Zamela saw it in
favor of Magadaza by 95-94,
underlining how close the action
had been. Referee in charge was
Steven Simon.
Putting himself on course for
even bigger things in the
future, new WBF International
Strawweight Champion Siphosethu
Ncisane improved his
professional record to 8-1 (5),
and Magadaza falls to 6-7 (2)
after winning his two previous
fights.
