On Friday December 18, Port Elisabeth, South Africa played host to an entertaining showdown for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Strawweight title between compatriots Siphosethu Ncisane and Ndikho “Mini Cooper” Magadaza.

Headlining a show at the Uitenhage Indoor Sports Center, Ncisane was crowned the new champion by eleventh round knockout, but only after great resistance from Magadaza who fought his heart out and was in the fight all the way to the final moments.

At the time of stoppage, judges Prince Mbambaza and Lizo Jordan had Ncisane ahead by scores of 95-94 and 97-93, while judge Nkosinathi Zamela saw it in favor of Magadaza by 95-94, underlining how close the action had been. Referee in charge was Steven Simon.

Putting himself on course for even bigger things in the future, new WBF International Strawweight Champion Siphosethu Ncisane improved his professional record to 8-1 (5), and Magadaza falls to 6-7 (2) after winning his two previous fights.

The fight was promoted by Nyusa & NNM Boxing Promotions.
