World Boxing Federation (WBF)
Womens World Flyweight Champion
Amira Hamzaoui will make her
second title defense on Saturday
April 23 at the Hall des Sports
Pierre Gaspard in her hometown
of Epernay, France, when she
takes on Mexican Isabel “La
Estrella” Milan.
Hamzaoui, 12-1 (5), won the WBF
World title in October 2014 by
beating then undefeated champion
Raja Amasheh in Germany, and
made her first defense last
April in Epernay with a
unanimous decision over
resilient Hungarian challenger
Alexandra Vlajk.
After a thorough training camp
where she has prepared by
sparring the likes of WBF Womens
World Light Flyweight champion
Anne Sophie Da Costa, reigning
French champion Sandy Coget and
undefeated prospect Justine
Lallemand, Hamzaoui is now ready
for a tough challenge from
Milan.
Isabel Millan, 15-2-1 (8), is a
pro since 2011, and will be
fighting outside of her native
Mexico for the first time in
what will also be her first
world championship bout. Last
August she captured the WBF
International Flyweight title,
and has since stayed busy with
two non-title fight victories,
most recently in February, while
waiting for her big chance.
The boxers have each expressed
how hungry they are to put on a
great performance and to leave
no doubt about the result, so if
they both manage to deliver on
their promises inside the ring
it is bound to be a fast-paced
and action-packed affair.
Promoted by Jerome Vilmain and
the Boxing Club d´Epernay, the
Hamzaoui vs. Millan WBF Womens
World Flyweight title fight is
the main event of a highly
anticipated event, and fans are
expected to turn up in large
numbers to support the local
heroine.
