Undefeated Albanian
Cruiserweight Sefer Seferi will
be looking to live up to his
ring-name, “The Real Deal”, when
he squares off with Hungarian
veteran Laszlo Hubert for the
vacant World Boxing Federation
(WBF) Intercontinental title on
Saturday April 23 at the
Markthalle in his adopted
hometown of Burgdorf,
Switzerland.
Seferi, 20-0 (18), won the WBF
Intercontinental Cruiserweight
championship back in 2010, but
for various reasons never made a
defense of the title. Now he
gets a chance to reclaim his old
belt, and pave the way for a
potential world
title-opportunity in the future.
“I
have prepared 100 percent for
this fight, and I am very
motivated, knowing my opponent
is good and more experienced
than me. It will be a big
night”, said Seferi in a recent
interview. “I am looking forward
to fight in front of all the
Albanian and Swiss fans who will
come to support me on the night,
and I will win this title for
them.”
Southpaw Budapest-resident
Laszlo Hubert, 44-18-1 (29),
turned professional in 2007 and
has since fought for, and won, a
long line of championships. In
2010 he captured the WBF
International title at
Heavyweight, a weight class he
has occasionally ventured into
for big opportunities.
At 37 and 40 years of age
respectively, neither Seferi nor
Hubert are “spring chickens” and
both will enter this fight
knowing its a must-win if they
are to continue having any hopes
of even bigger accomplishments.
So, backs against the wall, this
could easily turn out to be an
explosive encounter!
“Punch
It Fight Night” at the
Markthalle in Burgdorf,
Switzerland on April 23 will be
promoted by Sefer Seferi in
cooperation with his older
brother Nuri “Albanian Tyson”
Seferi, himself a former
Cruiserweight contender with a
fine 36-7 (20) record and
several titles on his resume.
