Less than 24 hours prior to the
official Opening Ceremony of the
III. World Boxing Federation
(WBF) World Convention, the
Executive Board members headed
by South African World Boxing
Federation President Howard
Goldberg arrived at Maribor,
Slovenia to be welcomed by
Ninoslav Vidovic, Chief
Marketing Officer of the
exclusive Hotel Habakuk.
At the final organizational
meeting, which aside from the
aforementioned was attended by
WBF Vice Presidents Jean Marcel
Nartz (Germany) and Torben
Seemann Hansen (Denmark), plus
WBF Executive Director Olaf
Schroeder and WBF General
Secretary Diana Spasova, the
last strings were pulled for
tomorrow’s grand convention
opening.
The ceremony is open to the
general public and thus will be
attended not just by the
convention delegates, but also
by prominent Slovenian figures
and is televised nationwide on
RTV Slovenija.
First delegates, though, already
arrived in time for dinner with
the WBF Board this evening. The
general feeling seems to be that
people can’t wait for the WBF
Convention to start, and it
promises to be a truly exciting
event over the next few days
ahead.
