The good news keep coming in for
new WBF women’s world light
flyweight champion Ju Hee Kim,
after she captured her fourth
world title belt with the World
Boxing Federation crown last
September 12.
First, the 24-year-old South
Korean became the inaugural
winner of the new WBF Boxer of
the Month award for September,
following her heroic struggle
with the Philippines Jujeath
Nagawa in which Kim suffered a
broken nose, a completely shut
eye and was later detained in
hospital.
“This was one of the most brutal
fights ever seen in female
boxing, so there was no question
who would become the first
recepiant of our Boxer of the
Month honour,” said WBF
Executive Director Olaf
Schroeder.
The full bout can be seen on
this website in the
video section.
Following that Ju Hee Kim
finally found a sponsor when
Korean restaurant chain Chamimat
took on the champion as its new
spokesperson and had a signing
ceremoney yesterday at its
headquarters in Ilsan, South
Korea.
Chamimat will support Kim,
14-1-1 (6), with a monthly
stipend as well as taking part
in expenses for future fights.
To promote the company, Kim will
hold autograph signing sessions
in the company’s premises.
Despite her success in the ring,
Kim had suffered financial
hardships as she had no sponsor
over the last few years. |
