Up-and-coming Tanzanian Idd
Pialari treated himself to a
nice present on Christmas Day,
Sunday December 25, when he
captured the vacant World Boxing
Federation (WBF) All Africa
Welterweight title at Diamond
Jubilee Hall in Dar Es Salaam.
In the main event of a show
promoted by Kaike Promotions,
23-year-old Pialari fought well
throughout the entire ten rounds
against undefeated compatriot
Twaha Kiduku (24), and scored a
well-deserved unanimous decision
in front of a sizable and
festive crowd.
Judges Ibrahim Kamwe, Agapeter
Mnazareth and Saind Chaku scored
the fight 97 - 93, 97 - 93 and
98 - 92 respectively. Referee in
charge of the action was Sakwe
Mtulya.
The new WBF All Africa champion,
who lost his professional debut
at only fifteen years of age in
September 2009, improved his
record to 17-2-1 (12), while
former Tanzanian national
Lightweight titlist Kiduku drops
to 8-1 (5).
