Italian Matteo Fratini today
resigned from his position as
World Boxing Federation vice
president, citing personal
reasons for his retirement.
The 56-year-old from Rome, who
is a respected international
judge, served in this position
for thirteen months since
October 2009.
In view of his great merits, the
WBF directory acclaimed Fratini
as Honorary Consultant and WBF
President Howard Goldberg
stated:
“While we are sad that Matteo
has stepped down, but at the
same time respect his decision,
we want to honour him with this
non-executive post for his
contribution and cooperation,
because we are happy that Matteo
will remain available for the
World Boxing Federation with his
experience and advice.”
Fratini will also stay on the
Executive Committee and keep on
accepting assignments as judge.
The WBF directory will
immediately endeavour to appoint
a new vice president still this
month. |
