Former World Boxing Federation
(WBF) Womens World Featherweight
Champion Stephanie Ducastel from
France will be attempting to
become a two-weight champion on
May 12, when she fights
Argentinian Maria Soledad
Capriolo for the vacant WBF
World Super Featherweight crown.
Ducastel, 7-3-1 (2), has already
achieved amazing things in only
eleven professional fights. She
captured the French national
Featherweight title in her fifth
outing, and then became European
champion in her eighth fight. In
fight number ten, in December of
2015, she won the WBF World
Featherweight title.
However, since then she has only
fought once, a non-title victory
this past January, and decided
to vacate her Featherweight
title to move up in weight and
pursue a new goal: to become a
world champion in a second
weigh-class.
For Maria Soledad Capriolo,
7-5-4 (0), it will be her first
opportunity to win a significant
title. Nicknamed “La Bonita”,
the 35-year-old from Cordoba has
never shied away from a
challenge, and since turning
professional in 2012 she has
happily fought anyone put in
front of her.
The Stephanie Ducastel vs. Maria
Soledad Capriolo WBF Womens
World Super Featherweight title
fight, on Friday May 12 at
Gymnase Des Malteries in
Strasbourg, France, is the main
event of a show promoted by
Andre Panza and his Panza Gym.
