When up-and-coming German
cruiserweight Bjoern Blaschke
steps into the ring next Satuday,
Dec. 4 in his hometown of
Reutlingen, facing Cologne-based
Jonathan Pasi for the vacant WBF
International belt, he has
little option but to win the
title, seeing that his fans
obviously expect him to deliver
as the venue is already
completely sold out.
Although Blaschke has just a 6-0
(5) record, he was an
experienced amateur with almost
150 fight and thus can't waste
much time, being already 32
years old.
"I'm physically in top shape,"
says Blaschke, who has trained
at the Neuwied gym of manager
Turhan Altunkaya, "so I have
done everything I could to win
the title and be ready for 10
rounds if necessary."
Altunkaya, himself a former
professional, attests Blaschke a
lot of talent and a huge heart
and Jonathan Pasi will certainly
be his toughest test so far in
the pro ranks. |
