Kalakoda Promotions presents
“Rapid Fire”, a World Boxing
Federation (WBF) Championship
triple-header at Wynberg
Military Base in Cape Town,
South Africa on Friday, November
24. Kwese Sports will broadcast
the event will be televised
live.
Undefeated local hot prospect
Thembani Mbangatha will look to
finish the year strong, taking
on Mayihlome Mjonono for the
vacant WBF All Africa
Featherweight title, in what
will be his first title fight in
the paid ranks.
Nicknamed “Baby Jake”, Mbangatha
is 7-0 (4), while Mayihlome
brings a 5-2 (1) ledger, so it
shapes up to be a competitive
and interesting match-up.
Originally scheduled for
November 3 but postponed when
that card was cancelled,
Nicholas Radley fights
Makhasonge Zwengu with the
vacant WBF All Africa Light
Heavyweight title on the line.
Radley, 4-0 (4), will be jumping
in at the deep end against his
best opponent to date. Three of
his four foes so far hasn’t made
it out of the first round, while
the fourth adversary was stopped
in the third. Against Zwengu,
10-13 (5), over ten rounds, he
will surely get much more
resistance.
Finally, WBF All Africa
Cruiserweight Champion
Chamunorva “Sting” Gonorenda,
9-12 (6), puts his belt on the
line against Nkapema Mutshi, 7-0
(2), from the Democratic
Republic of The Congo.
Gonorenda, from Zimbabwe but
fighting out of South Africa for
most of his career, won the
title last August blowing out
Tanzanian Kaminja Ramadhan in
the first round. He is out to
prove again that his
less-than-stellar record doesn't
do him justice.
