Russias Oksana Vasilieva won the
vacant WBF Female World
Featherweight title on November
27, when she beat durable
Hungarian Renata Szebeledi at
the Express, in Rostov.
20-year-old Szebeledi, who in
her previous bout fought for the
WBF World Super Bantamweight
title in South Africa, and gave
a similar good account of
herself before losing on points,
seemed to be just one step
behind Vasilieva.
After ten entertaining rounds,
all three judges had the local
girl ahead and the partisan
crowd could celebrate the new
champion.
With the victory Vasilieva joins
World Heavyweight Champion
Natascha Ragosina as Russia’s
second World Boxing Federation
Female champion, and improves
her professional record to 9-4
(2). Szebeledi drops to 6-8 (4),
but proved her outstanding
performance in South Africa was
no fluke. |
