The fight bill in Prague, Czech
Republic this coming Friday,
Dec. 3, is one not to be missed.
If the EBU super welterweight
championship between local hero
and champion Lukas Konecny and
the Armenian-born Swiss
challenger Hamlet Petrosyan
doesn’t make your flesh creep,
then certainly exciting Kreshnik
‘The Eagle’ Qato’s fourth WBF
World middleweight title defence
against Tanzanian Karama
Nyilawila will.
It is difficult to judge the 12
win (6 ko’s) and 7 losses record
of the challenger, who won only
2 of his last 5, with 1 draw,
but his losses have come in
“away fights” in Russia (WBC
Youth Championship) and South
Africa. Nyilawila conquered the
Tanzanian middleweight
championship in June 2007. He
lost that title in his 2nd
defence, but regained it in
April last year.
The Wembley-based Albanian lost
no less than 6 of his first 11
fights. Proof he was thrown into
the deep. Since then he has an
unbeaten run of 19 straight
wins. Even if his statistics are
quite impressive (Southern Area
super-middleweight title,
External European Union
super-middleweight, WBF World
middleweight title with defences
in the USA, Germany and
Albania), it’s his style that
attracts fans. His bumpy pro
start in England is proof of
that. They would have sacked a
six-time loser, if he would not
have showed “he had it”. He’ll
show it in Prague next Friday. |
