When your nickname is “Cowboy”
it is only appropriate that you
headline a show billed as “The
Showdown”, and that is the case
for Namibian World Boxing
Federation (WBF) All Africa
Super Welterweight Champion
Vakufilapo Nashivela.
On Saturday April 7on a WBF
Championship double-header
promoted by Salute Boxing
Academy at the Windhoek Show
Ground in Windhoek, Namibia,
“Cowboy” Nashivela is set to
duel South African Roarke Knapp
in what will be his maiden title
defense.
Both fighters are undefeated at
6-0, and both have won five
bouts inside the distance, so it
is hard to imagine this being
anything but explosive.
Capturing the title last
December with a first round
stoppage of Tanzanian George
Mdluli, Nashivela could
certainly have picked an easier
foe in his first fight as
champion.
Also on the card, promising
Namibian national champion
Nathaniel Kakololo will take on
Israel “Money Machine” Kammwamba
from Malawi for the vacant World
Boxing Federation (WBF)
International Featherweight
title.
In another well-matched
encounter, Kakololo is 6-1-1 (2)
as a professional, while
Kammwamba brings a 9-2-1 (5)
ledger. This one is also
expected to provide pure
fireworks, and the winner sets
himself up nicely for more big
fights in the future.
